Father César Fernández de la Pradilla was born in 1935 in Alberite (La Rioja)
Born in 1935 in Spain, César Fernandez Pradilla Ruiz-Navarro was ordained a priest in 1962.
A year later, he arrives at the Pabré minor seminary as a white father, where he will teach for 24 years.
His interest in the plant and animal world would result in the creation of a museum of animal species in 1970 and a botanical garden in 1973.
Much more than a passion, it is a kind of vocation, after the priesthood, which drives him to discover the healing virtues of plants.
Thus, he begins to associate with the healers.
This experience will lead to publications, the development of Traditional Medicines Improvements, in sum to a promotion of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacopoeia.
To reward his services to the people, the Burkinabè Government will grant him Burkinabè Nationality in 1996, before distinguishing him from the title of “Knight of the Order” in 2007.
